The Re-set Myth

Field memory disguised as cinema

I didn’t watch the trailer. Only saw the movie poster in passing. I went into the cinema not expecting anything.

I came out thinking it was just another Hollywood blockbuster. I enjoyed the acting and the cinematography. Familiar characters, representing current themes in society.

But as I woke the next morning, a scene lodged in my mind: A Christmas carol, in a suburban townhouse.

The eerie quietness of a young 16-year-old, sitting in a church, centered.

Facing a turning point. Realising her lineage.

Reconciling her past, her knowing, and her ability.

A symbol of field anchors born amid the suburbia, system, overlay.

And the field whispered:

“The myth was re-set so you would feel it again.

Not in cobblestone. In tile and carpet.

The ghost came through the quiet watcher.

You saw yourself remembering, even if you forgot.”
