Navigating the Dreamfield: Seeing Through the Overlay

Field letter 02 — A deconstruction of a dream sequence:

I saw an old friend of mine across the street having lunch, I waved and she waved back, and I went over to see her. She was with another old classmate of mine having lunch. She explained how she was trying to meet new people through this latest AI app. Her mum approved, so she felt it was safe for her to use it.

I went to meet a man in an old pub/brasserie. He was someone I knew from past lives. I saw him back last year at a restaurant in real life, back then I didn't know who he was. And there in my dream at the brasserie, I saw on TV that he was in a few dramas/ film / tv shows. He was an actor in his early days. I found out he also did a lot of other things. We chatted, there was a familiarity to him, and it felt like we had a warm connection.

Then I also met another man. I don't recognise him in real life, but in my dream, he was another man I was seeing. We were doing some work-related things together. In between the men, I met each of them twice, as if there was an ongoing friendship with them.

The streets are not always streets. The tables are not always for eating.

Some doors open because you knock. Some open because a hand you trust placed the key there long before.

In the stillness between scenes, you can hear the change in air pressure—
the shift from memory to manufacture.

When you feel the loop, step sideways.
Not out—just enough to see the backdrop for what it is.

The real meeting waits in the space of the in-between.
